Background
Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited, better known as Hactl, has named Frosti Lau Yi-sau as its new chief executive, bringing in fresh leadership at one of Hong Kong’s most prominent air cargo handling companies. He is set to take over the role in June 2026.
Lau carries more than 25 years of senior experience in aviation and air cargo, having worked across Hong Kong, Mainland China, Australasia, Southeast Asia, and Southern Africa. That kind of exposure across different markets gives him a broad base to draw from as he steps into the top job.
He joins from Cathay Pacific Airways, where he most recently served as regional general manager for Southeast Asia and Oceania. Over the course of his time there, he took on roles spanning cargo operations, commercial planning, digital transformation, partnerships, talent development, and operational efficiency.
Earlier in his career at Cathay Pacific, Lau served as general manager for cargo service delivery and held leadership responsibilities within the airline’s subsidiary air cargo terminal business, building a track record that sits across both day-to-day operations and longer-term strategy.
Hactl’s acting chief executive said the company was looking for someone who combined strong industry knowledge with digital expertise, and that Lau fits that profile well. The company said it expects him to build on its existing position in the market and steer it through its next stage of growth.
Lau holds degrees in business administration, financial analysis, law, and arts from several leading universities, rounding out a profile that blends academic grounding with decades of practical experience in the sector.
