Background

Bank of Singapore, which operates as the private banking arm of Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp (OCBC), has started deploying an agentic AI platform named HELIOS, bringing new account opening times for wealth clients down to 15 business days from more than 30.

Relationship managers use the platform to gather key client data, information and credit risk profiles, making due diligence for new accounts faster.

More than 100 relationship managers, roughly 25% of Bank of Singapore’s team, have started using the platform over the past five months across the bank’s Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai offices.

Jason Moo, Bank of Singapore’s CEO, said around 50 clients have already been fully onboarded through the platform, which serves high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.

The rollout across Bank of Singapore is set to be completed by the third quarter of this year and will extend to OCBC’s Premier Private Client segment by year-end.

Loretta Yuen, OCBC’s head of group legal and compliance, said the platform is designed to grow and enhance client onboarding, driving business growth for the bank.

The move reflects a broader push among banks to integrate AI into client offerings. OCBC’s larger peer DBS recently announced enhanced generative and agentic AI capabilities for its virtual assistants, which are set to reach more than 10 million users across Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
