Background-

Glider Technology, the Blackburn-based prop tech company, has folded EDocuments fully into its business and now trades under one brand.

Glider bought EDocuments, a Chelmsford-based provider of operation and maintenance (O&M) documentation, for an undisclosed sum in 2024. The EDocuments name will now retire after 25 years, and its platform becomes Glider Nexus.

The company said it took its time with the merger. It chose to blend the strengths of both teams rather than rush and unsettle customers. Accounts, data and daily support stay the same, and customers will deal with the same people.

EDocuments has spent 25 years delivering structured digital handover and O&M information to those who run buildings. Glider has spent the past decade digitising some of the UK’s most complex estates. Together, they place handover expertise beside information governance and asset management in one team.

The firm calls its focus asset intelligence. It helps building managers find, trust and act on the information they need to keep sites safe, compliant and high-performing across their whole life.

Many buildings in use today were built before structured records were expected, so much of the work means recovering lost data or rebuilding records scattered by years of fit-outs and contractor changes.

Founder and managing partner Nick Hutchinson said the team chose not to disrupt a trusted service just to apply a new name sooner. He said customers now get one team with wider skills and a platform that will keep receiving investment.
