Background
NTB, the Norwegian news agency, this week announced a new brand identity and the launch of a dedicated platform, ntb.tech, marking its shift from a regional news provider to a specialist in global media technology.
The rebranding comes as NTB’s editorial tools and automated workflows are now used by media houses in 22 countries, reflecting rising international demand for its software-as-a-service solutions. The agency said the move was a direct response to growing interest from publishers seeking to automate and streamline newsroom operations.
Tina Mari Flem, CEO and Editor-in-Chief, said NTB was an established name in the Nordics, but its international growth required a profile that clearly conveyed its capabilities as a technology partner. She said the agency aimed to become one of the world’s most innovative news organisations, describing NTB as equally a media technology house and a newsroom.
The new platform, ntb.tech, will serve as the main entry point for international clients, showcasing the agency’s editorial products. As part of the rebrand, its digital asset management system, previously called Mediabank, has been renamed NTB Lens.
Joakim Nilsson, Commercial Director, said publishers globally were showing strong interest in the agency’s combined editorial and technical expertise, adding that the new platform gave the international market a clear gateway to its technology.
A new logo and updated visual identity are part of the redesign, which was created in collaboration with ANTI. As NTB approaches its 160th anniversary, the agency said it was focusing on tools including AI-assisted reporting and cloud-based visual management.
