According to Bloomberg, Apple is testing four different smart glasses designs as it decides on the final look. The company is trying both rectangular and oval frames, so it can offer styles that suit different people.

The four designs reportedly include a large rectangular frame, a slimmer rectangular frame similar to the style worn by Apple CEO Tim Cook, a larger oval or circular frame, and a smaller oval or circular frame. Apple is also considering multiple color options, including black, ocean blue, and light brown.

The smart glasses are expected to be more practical than Apple’s earlier mixed reality plans. The company had previously aimed to build a wider range of augmented reality products, but those efforts faced delays and limited market excitement, especially after the underwhelming response to the Vision Pro headset.

Unlike full augmented reality glasses, Apple’s upcoming product may not feature built-in displays. Instead, it is expected to offer lightweight smart features similar to Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses.
