Background-
Chinese artificial intelligence startup Moonshot AI is expanding into Singapore, with a new sales role listed on the company’s LinkedIn page this week.
The job posting, dated Tuesday, seeks applicants with experience in sales, venture capital, consulting, product or engineering. The company wants a hire who can translate early wins into scalable revenue, strategic partnerships and market presence.
Moonshot, based in Beijing, did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Wednesday about its Singapore plans.
Business registry records show Moonshot AI already has a business entity in Singapore. The entity was incorporated in July 2023 and was renamed Novascent in June 2026. The records show the company already has a local footing in the city-state.
The expansion follows the July release of the Kimi K3 model. Moonshot says it is the world’s largest open-weight AI system, and the company says its performance approaches that of Anthropic’s models. Open-weight systems make their model weights available to developers, which can support wider adoption by businesses. The launch placed the Beijing startup among the closer challengers to US rivals.
Moonshot counts Tencent Holdings, Meituan and China Mobile among its backers. These established names give the startup strong financial and industry support as it seeks new partners and customers in Singapore. The sales role signals that the company now wants to turn its technical progress into revenue and long-term business relationships in the market.
