Background-
Travel Counsellors has appointed David Jack as its new chief technology officer, with the technology veteran joining the travel entrepreneur platform with immediate effect.
Jack arrives from Tunstall Healthcare, where he served as CTO and led a major technology transformation, including AI adoption across manufacturing, supply chain, product development and security.
Jack brings extensive experience from senior technology roles across several major businesses, including CIO of Trainline, alongside CTO and CIO positions at transport data firm wejo, delivery management software company MetaPack, data science firm dunnhumby and insurer Howden.
At Travel Counsellors, he will take charge of developing TC CoPilot, an AI-powered assistant built to boost productivity, deepen customer personalization and streamline everyday tasks, alongside continued investment in booking platforms and cruise technology.
Jack succeeds Jon Bauer, who joined as CTO in 2020 and recently departed the business after leading its technology function through a period of major investment and development, leaving behind a scalable technology platform supporting travel counsellors across international markets.
Steve Byrne, CEO of Travel Counsellors, thanked Bauer for his contribution over the past six years and welcomed Jack, citing his extensive experience leading technology, product and data teams at high-growth, customer-centric global businesses.
Byrne said the appointment would help the company build on its technology platform while expanding its use of data and AI to support its long-term growth plans.
Jack said he was delighted to join Travel Counsellors at an exciting time for the business, pointing to its strong technology, customer care and passionate community of travel entrepreneurs as key strengths he looks forward to building on as the company scales in the UK and internationally.
