Background-
Onecom has launched a self-service platform that lets any UK business build an AI-powered receptionist online.
The move opens the Onecom Halo platform, which only Onecom customers could use before. Businesses can now create, test and deploy AI agents that hold real-time conversations with callers.
The agents run on Onecom VOX, the company’s carrier-grade voice core, which carries 250 million calls a year. They answer calls around the clock, take messages, book appointments, answer common questions and pass callers to a human when needed. Each call produces a transcript and summary.
Aaron Brown, CEO of Onecom Technology Group, said every missed call sends a customer to a competitor. He said anyone can build a receptionist that speaks for their business, test it and have it answering the phone the same day, with no sales calls or site visits. He added that Halo is the first product Onecom has offered directly to any UK business, and it will not be the last.
To build an agent, users visit the Onecom Halo website and enter their web address, opening hours, prices, common questions and call handling rules. They can then make test calls to hear the agent at work. Businesses that want to go live pay a simple monthly subscription.
Testing is free, with no obligation to buy. Businesses can keep their current number or receive a free local landline number from Onecom, whether or not they are customers.
Halo supports more than 32 languages across voice and digital channels, and Onecom’s AI specialists offer help when needed.
