Background-
MTU Aero Engines raised its full-year revenue forecast on Thursday after third-quarter sales came in above expectations, led by strong growth in its engine maintenance business.
The German engine maker reported adjusted revenue of €2.43 billion ($2.7 billion) for the quarter, ahead of the company-compiled consensus of €2.37 billion. Adjusted operating profit rose to €349 million, close to analysts’ forecast of €354 million.
The maintenance, repair and overhaul unit stayed the main growth driver. Its revenue rose to €1.72 billion, which made up most of the quarter’s sales, and its adjusted operating profit climbed 20%. That performance helped balance softer earnings in the original equipment business.
Airlines continue to spend on maintenance because supply chain disruptions and aircraft delivery delays are keeping engines in service for longer. This steady demand keeps the company’s service arm busy and supports its growth.
MTU now expects 2026 revenue between €9.5 billion and €9.7 billion. It had earlier guided for €9.2 billion to €9.7 billion, so the lower end of the range moved up. The company also raised its cash conversion target.
MTU kept its adjusted operating profit target unchanged at €1.35 billion to €1.45 billion, which gives investors a clear earnings range for the full year.
The quarter shows how aftermarket work is lifting the group at a time when aircraft supply remains tight, and the higher revenue outlook reflects that demand.
