Yossi serves as the Chief of Staff and director of government relations at Masa Israel Journey, where he has dedicated the past five years to managing government relations and overseeing cross-organizational projects. His role demands a systemic perspective and a robust work ethic to execute large-scale initiatives effectively. At 34, he is married to Shiran and is a proud father to his son, Amiad. He was raised in the moshav of Nes Harim in the Jerusalem Hills and has been living in Jerusalem for the past eight years. 

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, along with a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Management from Tel Aviv University. His passion lies in building connections and fostering relationships, where he brings creativity and innovative solutions to drive organizational goals. 

Previously, he served as an Israeli emissary in Canada and the United States, which deepened his understanding of the importance of strong ties between Israel and global Jewry. This experience solidified his commitment to a career that bridges these communities.

Masa Israel Journey: Bridging Cultures and Identities 

Masa Israel Journey is the largest immersive educational platform for young adults, aged 16 to 50, offering programs that last from four weeks to ten months. Founded in 2004 by The Jewish Agency and the government of Israel, Masa aims to connect global Jewish communities with Israel, fostering a stronger sense of Jewish identity and cross- cultural understanding. Participants engage deeply with Israeli society, culture, politics, and history while connecting with top businesses and academic institutions. 

A Journey to Leadership at Masa Israel Journey 

Yossi’s journey to becoming the Chief of Staff at Masa Israel Journey began with his involvement in the “Shin- Shin” program through the Jewish Agency, where he served the Jewish community in Washington, DC. This experience deepened his connection to Jewish identity and culture, inspiring him to pursue further opportunities as an emissary in Vancouver, Canada. 

After completing his military service, he worked with youth and young adults, fostering connections to Israel through various programs. While studying at Hebrew University, he was a team leader in marketing and recruitment for the World Zionist Organization, helping others embark on similar emissary missions. His academic pursuits included an internship at the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, enhancing his understanding of government processes. 

He joined Masa. Israel Journey quickly advanced to Chief of Staff. In this role, he established a government relations framework, building sustainable partnerships that align with Masa’s vision. His dedication to strengthening ties between Israel and global Jewry drives his work, reflecting a commitment to innovative programs that engage young people and enhance cultural exchange. Responsibilities as Chief of Staff 

As Chief of Staff at Masa Israel Journey, Yossi embodies a role that merges strategy, collaboration, and impactful execution. He works closely with the CEO to shape and implement the organization’s vision, ensuring alignment and efficiency across all departments. One of Yossi’s most impactful experiences at Masa Israel Journey is the annual Memorial Day Ceremony for Israel’s Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terror. This significant event, the largest of its kind in Israel, honors Jews worldwide who immigrated to Israel, served in the IDF, and tragically lost their lives. It unites the global Jewish community through shared stories and sacrifices. 

During Israel’s 75th Independence, the ceremony reached new heights, attracting 7,000 attendees and over a million viewers globally. He played a crucial role in managing distinguished guests, including international delegations and government representatives. This required meticulous planning and collaboration with various stakeholders. 

The ceremony serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of building relationships within the Jewish community. For him, it encapsulates Masa’s mission to connect Israel with global Jewry through shared values and experiences. Each year, this event reaffirms his passion for fostering connections and highlights Masa’s ability to inspire collective reflection and strengthen bonds among diverse audiences worldwide.
